It was really very simple. My only suggestion is that you might put the pink end of the cardstock with the x on it as the part where you'll score at 6". It will put that pink across the top of the box. Mine on my second try has the stripes across the top and the pink is wasted.
She gives really good instructions so I am not going to reinvent the wheel here.

Once your box is done you can embellish the top. I had some foil doilies that I sponged the back side with rococo rose, but you could use the foil part if you wanted the shine!!

I stamped a cake piece, colored it with markers and cut it out

I used one of the long foil trimmed banner pieces from the kit and stamped "birthday' right up to the edge on the left and "wishes" right up tight to the edge on the right.
Cut it in half

I cut the foil doily in half and glued it to the top of the box so that it would stick out a smidge from the top and bottom of the cake.
I then popped up the cake with dimensionals and put it on the doily.

Last went on the sentiment. You will want to trim the halves down so they can tuck under the cake. I popped a dimensional on those too.
All done! I think it would be cute with some silver or gold thread under the cake too....or maybe just the foil part of the doily showing??
