Afternoon cards for the challenge

I went live again in the afternoon to show off the two cards below.  I thought it would be cute to just progress throughout the day with videos, however I did not get to do them all.  So, I did the last one on my weekly live for Wednesday.  These two cards were fun to do, I had never used the Bistro Burger before.  I had to borrow it from my mom, and I really like it.  Do you think she'd miss it if I didn't give it back for awhile?  Lol, I'm sure she'd notice...dang it!  I wasn't very successful with my bun coloring though, but practice makes perfect....I'd better keep it for a bit!!  You can see the video for these cards here.

Card A Day In May Ideas

I'm going to just dump a ton of things on here today so I'll try to do them in the order they took place.  I have been doing a lot of cards this past week!!  I participated in the Card a Day in May challenge and was a presenter a couple of times.  I did food & drink cards on the 17th.  I started with donuts and coffee in the morning and in the afternoon we grilled up some Father's Day cards.  I enjoy doing Kevin's event.  It has a different theme for every day of the month and you create your card for any/all the days right on his page.  You can see so many cool ideas and such inspiration from all the people playing along.
My first card, as I said, was coffee and dounts.  Then I did another one of just a donut for those that don't like coffee.  The videos will be on the challenge page for a month but I think they will remain on my FB page because they are downloaded and not a live.  Here is the link for the first video.

Using Black & White Patterned Paper

I wanted to show some different ways to use the black and white papers that Stampin' UP! puts out.  Currently there is an Artisan Sketched Garden 12 x 12 pack.  It has some beautiful patterns that are perfect for cutting out pieces and coloring, or blending them.  There are a bunch of different patterns on the B side to pair with these.  You can also color the patterns and use them for focal papers, or just leave them black and white and make a stunning design!  You can see the video of all three designs I created on YouTube, here.

Pocket Cards

My weekly live showed you how to make a simple pocket card.  I added a panel to the back so that you could easily add a gift card or a check if you needed a card for graduation.  You could also jazz up the paper with a flowery pattern and give a gift card for a local flower stand or nursery for plants for Mom.  Don't need the panel, well just leave it as is and you have a super cute card done even faster!!  I have a how to video on YouTube, here.  In the video I will also show a little about using a blender pen to add color to the images.  Don't confuse the blender pen with a Stampin' Blend though, they are definitely two different things.

Product List

April Paper Pumpkin Alternates

My Paper Pumpkin alternates are done and loaded out to social media.  You can see them in an album on my Facebook page.  If you are more of a YouTube fan, they are on there as well.  I put them in my Paper Pumpkin playlist, you can see that here.

This kit was another really nice one that made more masculine cards.  The stamp set had a Father's Day stamp and DAD in it, those are nice to help build a variety of sentiments.  This kit coordinates with the Waterside Retreat suite in the new mini catalog starting on May 5th.  I love the colors in the kit too.  It uses the new Peaceful Pine in-color that starts on the 5th as well.  You could always just turn these cards into a woodsy feel for friends that have cottages or like the outdoors as well.

April Class Cards

Here are the cards I created for my April class.  I love how they each came together.  The ladies each had needs besides the wedding sentiments so those got changed up to anniversary and birthday.  That's perfectly fine by me too!  I just create with the stamp set and then we pivot at class.  So, if you ever see a class I'm doing and would rather have birthday cards than get well, we'll just change that!  I'm ok with you walking away with cards you will actually use and not making them exactly like mine.  This class used the Lovely & Beautiful Suite (Simply Beautiful bundle).  The cardstock choices all coordinated with the patterned paper.

Christmas Video for April

Tonight I did a fun stack of cards using patterned papers.  You cut it up and then piece it back together using a piece from each pattern.  I was calling it a "switcheroo" but I'm sure there is a more official name for it.  It is easy and depending on how much time you put into the sentiment or focal point you could easily make these in bulk.  You could whip out your full Christmas card list in a day.  What an awesome way to use up paper and fill is some time if you are waiting around somewhere.   You can also make a thank you card like this if you need a bunch for  something or if you go to a shower you could gift the bride or mom-to-be a stack of thank yous to send out.  You can see the YouTube video here.

I did it again this week!

I showed two different cards again this week.  I wanted to show a full on stamping card for those that just want the pleasure of stamping a card, and then I made a second card using mostly the dies from the same bundle.  The stamp sets were again, ones I hadn't inked up yet.  Well, let me take that back.  I did ink two words from the one set for some cards but that's it.  The dies I had never used and boy did they make some pretty flowers.  I keep buying flower sets and then shy away from using them for fear of over saturating my stash and videos with flower cards.  Silly thoughts I know because the cards are so gorgeous.  Stampin' UP! does some great dies.
So, here are the cards I made last week and links to the YouTube videos.  All stamping card.   Card using dies.
