February 2026 Paper Pumpkin Alternates

I got my Paper Pumpkin alternates done and the videos loaded.  You can see them on YouTube in my Paper Pumpkin playlist.  There is also an album on my Facebook page with all the videos in it.  You an see those here.

I like how they all turned out.  Each has it's own fun element to it and I didn't use up too many of the kit supplies.  That leaves plenty for you to make up the way it was intended.  I hope you enjoy these alternates and give one or two, maybe even all of them a try.  See ya next month with more alternates!!

Feb class at the South County Sr Center

This week I had my first class with the Vicksburg Arts at our local senior center.  We had a pretty good turn out for the first time.  I was sure tuckered out when I got home!  I haven't taught a group of new stampers in awhile, but it sure was fun.  I did most of the work ahead of time, I didn't know their skill level yet.  I didn't want to overwhelm them, which I sort of did with the new positioner tool.  It went good though, once they saw it all in action.
I'm pretty sure they all had a good time and I know I did!!  I hope they want to do it again.  These are the cards they made.  Again, I had the embossing and such done.  They stamped and glued them.

Create A Scene!

No, we won't create a real scene and drawn unwanted attention to ourselves, but we will create a fun stamping scene and draw wondering eyes to our design!!  I used a couple of newer stamp sets to make a background and then the swing in the front, giving the illusion of the field in the back.  I think it turned out pretty neat if I do say so myself.  It's not very often that I have a card idea from start to finish without outside inspiration.  This one I did!  Although, in cardmaking it's hard to have an original with all the creative minds out there.  You can see the video on how to make the card on my YouTube channel or the live will be on Facebook for a couple more weeks.  Here is the YouTube link.

A few things I've been working on

Here are just a few of the cards I've been working on recently.  I did finish off the virtual card retreat from Stampin' UP! the other day and was going to do a little reel of all the cards but haven't yet.  That is really a great purchase if you didn't get it.  Below are the two quilt blocks for January and my friends birthday card for today actually.

Beauty in Layers

This card is just so gorgeous with all the patterned paper layers!  I love how the three different patterns tie all the colors together.  The suite I am using this month for my class has the most beautiful florals in it and the B side has a lot of wonderful colored paper.  I'm so thrilled to get to showcase most of them in the class.
You could use any patterned paper for this card, even the bits you have saved because you couldn't part with them.  Those too small for backgrounds, but too big to toss, pieces!!  This could quite possibly be the time to use them.  If you want to make these cards and can't come to class, sign up for the class in the mail.  You'll get all the supplies and pretty papers to create your own!!  You can view this card on my YouTube channel, here.

Words of Beauty

I started showing the cards I'll be offering in the February class.  I think it will help you guys decide if you want to come to class if you can see the cards and how they come together.  They are not hard, but I know it is easy to be intimidated if you aren't sure about how to do something.  Rest assured, class is low key and certainly not set up to stress you out.  This suite is so pretty and the paper is just wonderful.  The designs are gorgeous on their own.  I use the paper a lot this month!  This card is very easy to create on it's own or you can run the layer through your cut & emobss machine and give it some texture.  You can see the how to video on YouTube, here.
You may also notice that I'm chaning up my YouTube videos.  I am not going to be posting my weekly live video there anymore, just a short how to for making the card.  It adds in another video and a tad more work for me, but I think in the long run it will be more enjoyable for the YouTube watchers.  So, wish me luck as I change up another thing!!  LOL.

January Paper Pumpkin Alternates

I got my alternates done for the January kit just in the nick of time!  I needed to get my one for the group I'm in submitted by the 31st.  I was down to the wire!  I can't believe I forgot to update my PP subscription page when I got my new credit card.  I updated everything I could think of before I left and forgot that and Netflix.  We are all squared away now and I can put this kit to rest.  I believe I used up most of the pieces.  I'll make a couple random cards with the rest today.  I need to make a couple of quilt cards too so YAY!  Another crafting day calls.
You can see the videos on my Facebook page in the album I created, here.  If you'd rather see them on YouTube, you can find them in my Paper Pumpkin Alternates playlist, here.
The scrapbook page was made with the box the kit came in.  It was a shift from another card idea I had when I ruined part of the box trying to get the paper off.

Friendly Foliage Luminaire

I wanted to do a little something different this week, so I did!!  I came up with this luminaire option and it was pretty easy to design really.  Take a peek at the video to see just how easy it is!!   You can see it here, on YouTube.
